Generally, settlement takes either 30 or 60 days according to the terms set out in your Contract of Sale. Stamp duty, also known as transfer duty, is a tax paid on the acquisition of property. Whether you’re buying a property or receiving it as inheritance or a gift, there’s a very good chance you’ll need to pay stamp duty. 

Stamp duty is calculated based on the purchase price or the market value of the property, whichever is higher at the time of  acquisition. Was a little difficult at first as our conveyancer left at the start and we had to change to another. At first my Wife and I felt that the beginning of the electronic paperwork was not set out to support new customers.
