Luke Thomas is the Chief Commercial Officer at Settle Easy, where he leads the commercial and marketing engine behind Australia’s fastest-growing online conveyancing platform
With a strong track record across PropTech and SaaS, Luke drives the company’s partnerships, growth strategy, and product innovation. Prior to Settle Easy, he held senior leadership roles at MRI Software and PropTech Group, where he was responsible for enterprise strategy and go-to-market execution across Australia and New Zealand.
Luke is passionate about simplifying the property journey for all participants, whether they’re brokers, agents, buyers, or sellers and is focused on delivering scalable, tech-enabled solutions that improve both customer outcomes and business performance
Sam is an accomplished and strategic business leader and board director. As the Co-Founder and CEO of Settle Easy, Sam is responsible for the expansion and evolution of the organisation from a startup to scale-up. He is focused on building a high-performance, people first culture that enables commercial success and customer satisfaction. Most recently, he has acted as Head of Commercial at ASX listed company Acusensus, a world leader in road safety technology, where he helped secure over $120 million in contracted revenue within four years
Prior to embarking on a career in business, Sam was the Head of Community Engagement and Diversity Council Secretary at Cricket Australia, where he oversaw a period of significant growth to record levels of participation, sponsorship, and engagement, as well as leading substantial organisational change.
He has also previously held leadership positions at the ABC Advisory Council and been a member of the SBS Advisory Committee
As the Chairperson of the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust and the John Curtin Research Centre, Sam continues to make a positive impact on society.
Doug Hutchinson is the Chief Operating Officer at Settle Easy, where he oversees finance and operations. With over 35 years of experience as a Certified Practising Accountant, Doug brings deep expertise in financial management, business operations, and strategic planning.
Before joining Settle Easy, Doug held senior leadership roles at Barry Plant Real Estate, including Chief Financial & Commercial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He has also served in executive positions at Quest Serviced Apartments, Citadel Securix, and Tech Rentals Pty Ltd.
Doug is passionate about leveraging technology to simplify complex processes and improve customer experiences. His leadership continues to drive Settle Easy’s growth and innovation in the proptech space.
Righardt is Settle Easy’s Chief Legal Officer, bringing over a decade of experience in property, commercial, and corporate law. His career spans both national and boutique law firms, where he built a strong reputation for delivering strategic, solutions-oriented legal advice across a wide range of matters.
Righardt works closely with practice leaders to ensure the highest standards of legal service delivery across the business. He also partners with legal operations and technology teams to drive continuous improvement, ensuring Settle Easy remains at the forefront of legal innovation with a best-in-class tech stack and forward-thinking approach to technology adoption.
He is passionate about modernising the legal experience—making it simpler, more efficient, and truly aligned with business and client needs.
Karim is Settle Easy’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), responsible for leading the design and delivery of the company’s product strategy across its conveyancing platform and partner ecosystem.
With over 20 years of corporate experience, Karim brings deep expertise in product management, user experience, and go-tomarket execution. He plays a critical role in shaping a product roadmap that balances innovation with real-world outcomes, ensuring Settle Easy’s technology is scalable, intuitive, and tailored to the needs of its customers and white-label partners

Jodi Grist is Head of Practice Performance at Settle Easy, where she leads initiatives that enhance team capability, culture, and conveyancing standards across the business.
With a strong background in legal practice and people leadership, Jodi brings both strategic oversight and on-the-ground experience to her role. She previously ran her own conveyancing business in Victoria and worked as a Business Development Manager in the title insurance space, supporting firms in managing propertyrelated risk.
Educated in Human Resources, Jodi is passionate about building high-performing, people-first teams. She’s known for her ability to drive practical improvements that support both individual development and firm-wide success.
Luke Emerson is Settle Easy’s Corporate Accounting Manager, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations and trust accounting.
A Chartered Accountant (CA) and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Luke brings over 15 years of experience across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors, including senior finance roles in sporting organisations. His background includes deep tax expertise from his time in chartered firms, giving him a strong technical foundation.
At Settle Easy, Luke leads financial reporting, month-end processes, and analytical insights that support strategic decision-making. Reporting to the COO, he plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and stability as the business continues to grow.
Madaline is a dedicated lawyer with broad experience across property, banking, and finance. Known for her sharp attention to detail and practical, solutions-focused approach, she builds trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike. Madaline values collaboration and plays a key role in supporting the team to deliver high-quality outcomes. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, keeping active, and following Formula 1.
Sue Arena is Head of Customer Service at Settle Easy, leading the team with a clear mission—to make every customer interaction easy, supportive, and stress-free.
With over 20 years of experience in real estate and proptech, including seven years at MRI Software heading up a national sales team, Sue brings a wealth of industry insight and a handson, people-first leadership style. She’s passionate about building high-performing teams, strengthening client relationships, and continuously improving processes to elevate the customer journey.

Luciana brings deep industry experience and a strong commitment to operational excellence. In 2017, she pioneered Australia’s first e-conveyancing settlement agency model, aligning with Victoria’s digital transition and setting a new benchmark for innovation in the industry.
Under her leadership, the business has successfully partnered with firms across the country, supporting the full spectrum of property transactions.
